CanBoat / Port Dover (formerly Port Dover Power & Sail Squadron) is a volunteer, non-profit organization that fosters safe boating through education. This is mainly done through courses, presentations and other demonstrations on a variety of boating related content such as navigation, VHF radio and licensing. Our current membership enjoys the benefits of a family of fellow boaters, multiple events and many discounts from our boating partners and courses.
Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons is a non-profit organization that has been connecting boaters for over 75 years and continues to play a major role in Canadian boating culture. We are a nationwide organization of recreational boating enthusiasts with over 20,000 active members. Our instructors help recreational boaters improve their boating safety knowledge as well as their vessel handling and navigation skills.
Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons / Escadrilles canadiennes de plaisance (CPS-ECP) rebrands to CanBoat / NautiSavoir.
The brand features a new logo with a red maple leaf and a blue wave symbolic of boating lifestyle on our rivers, lakes, and oceans. The new name is shorter and identifiable to those interested in becoming part of our nation-wide boating family.
Our not-for-profit Canadian organization has been providing excellent education for recreational boaters for over 85 years. We have enjoyed many years as a major contributor to safe boating, while training over 800,000 boaters. Our goal is to continue being a leader in boating education and membership.
“After months of market research, it was clear we needed to modernize our focus. We are very respectful of our past journey which has given us the impetus to improve the direction of our future.” Lise Blais, Chief Commander
During the roll out, CanBoat / NautiSavoir will be noticeably visible on our website, in our print publications, electronic media, trade shows and social media. The name will also dove-tail nicely with recent state of the art technical upgrades to our numerous boating courses.
“The objective of the new brand was to refresh our name and visual identity. We also felt the need to successfully appeal to younger boaters to take our courses, become members and volunteer.” Bruce Kelley, National Marketing Chair
“CanBoat / NautiSavoir will resonate with a clear illustration of who we are and what we offer. Belonging to this organization speaks to Canada, Boating and YOUR ability to boat – Yes you CanBoat!” Vanessa Schmidt, National Marketing and Graphics Manager
